Hubbard Glacier – Oil on canvas.
The stunning geography of the Hubbard Glacier encompasses the longest river of ice in North America and is also one of the most active glaciers of its kind in Alaska. North America’s largest ‘tidewater’ glacier incorporates 1350 square miles of ice. Hubbard is a massive natural wonder with a remarkable range of translucent blue greens in the ice formation.
Green Dory – Acrylic on canvas.
This painting is of a quaint fishing village located in New Brunswick, Canada. It is a still, calm, early morning scene done in monochromatic colour, with a single green pigment in the green fishing dory used as a compositional element to emphasize the center of interest.
Last one standing – Oil on canvas.
The desolate geography of Georgian Bay, Ontario, is the background for these enormous rock formations with time-worn centuries of wind and erosion which established the rounded shapes common to the region’s shoreline. I was particularly drawn to the deep lines that created its age old appearance of time gone by.
Yellow pansies – Oil on canvas
Brilliant, multi-coloured early summer pansies in vivid, rich tones and an antique basket inspired me to capture this floral image on canvas. Saturated colours with direct lighting create a sense of depth and compositional impact.
Birds of a feather – Watercolour.
Graphic compositional lines and brilliant oranges bring this floral to life with the magic of transparent watercolour pigments. The tall rectangle emphasizes the unique graphic design of these ‘Birds of Paradise’.
